In Hebrew gematria every letter has a value, so every name has a total, and Kabbalists have been reading meaning into those totals for two thousand years. Here is what happens when yours meets the Tree of Life.
The oldest spreadsheet trick in the world
Gematria assigns each Hebrew letter a number: aleph is 1, bet is 2, up through tav at 400. Add up a word's letters and you get its value. The famous one is chai, the word for life, which sums to 18, and it is why gifts in Jewish tradition come in multiples of 18. Same energy as a lucky number, except with receipts going back to antiquity.
Your name was probably not written in Hebrew, so the app transliterates it first, following rules it documents: sound-pairs like sh and ch become single Hebrew letters, doubled letters collapse, short middle vowels drop the way Hebrew leaves them unwritten. Then it sums the letters.
A worked example: Adam
Take the name Adam. Three Hebrew letters: aleph (1), dalet (4), mem (40). Total: 45. Kabbalah then reduces by mispar katan, which is just adding the digits: 4+5 = 9. No master numbers here, on purpose. That is numerology's move, and gematria plays by its own rules.
The reduced number selects a sphere on the Tree of Life, the Kabbalistic map of ten emanations called sephirot. Nine lands on Yesod, the sphere of the Moon. Three spheres have no classical planet, so the app extends them itself and says so: Keter (1) becomes the balanced 60/40 portfolio, Chokmah (2) becomes quantum and frontier tech, and Malkuth (10, the sphere of Earth) becomes REITs and precious metals. Those three are labeled post-classical extensions in the code, because inventing tradition without a label is how you end up on the wrong side of your own honesty policy.
One more tilt: the day you were born
Classical planetary hours give each day of the week a ruler, Sunday to the Sun through Saturday to Saturn. The app blends your name's sephirah (70 percent) with your birth day-of-week ruler (30 percent). A Moon-name born on a Saturn-day gets mostly staples with a side of utilities. Cozy, structured, probably owns a label maker.
